Scenes from Our Annual Parent Fair

The annual Parent Fair was held August 22, 2019 from 2:00-6:00 pm and served as way to inform and to provide parents of enrolled students with all of the “start-up” details for the upcoming school year. It also provided an opportunity for parents and the community to explore the full range of Learning Center offerings.

Head of School Under the Tent Thursday, Sept 12th

Head of School Under the Tent Set for Sept 12th

Several times a year, our Director — and in this case our Head of School in Training — sets up a tent in the front parking lot and makes himself available all day.  Use this time to get information, ask questions and chat with Mr. Ryan about The Learning Center Charter School.  This casual setting is the perfect opportunity to find out about programs on campus, volunteer your time or talent, and ask questions that have cropped up since school began.

Mr. Ryan will see you Thursday, September 12th any time during regular school hours.

Soccer Now a Competitive Team Sport at Our School

New for the 2019-2020 school year, soccer is now offered as a competitive team sport at The Learning Center Charter School.

Soccer will be open to students for U12, U10 and U8 divisions. The three school teams will compete within the Cherokee County Soccer League and each team will be co-ed.

Ms. Shelley Farmer, physical education staff member, says that practice will be immediately after school at Conahetta Park. If rain prevents outdoor practice, the teams will practice on campus in the gym.  Ms. Shelley adds that students can expect to have practice two to three times a week and games will fall on Thursday evenings and/or Saturday mornings.

“Last year we introduced wrestling as a team sport to our students and we are thrilled to expand our program to include soccer this school year,” said Ms. Shelley.

Registration is now open through August 16th. The registration fee if $60 for the first child and $55 for additional siblings. Forms can be filled out in the front office. Feel free to contact Ms. Shelley with questions at Shelley@naturallygrownkids.org.

Field Day 2019

For 19 years, Field Day has been the hallmark event signaling the end of the school year at The Learning Center Charter School.

Always thinking out of the box, the school’s Field Day is water based and includes events such as water brigade, slip n’ slide,  and everyone’s favorite, mud pit tug-of-war.

This year the school’s parent organization, Parents Involved, rented inflatable water slides that students in kindergarten through eighth grade fully enjoyed. There was music, bubbles, water, mud and fun had by all.
