8th Grade Studies Microbiology By Baking Bread


Eighth graders  have been exploring the microscopic world in science class with Ms. Rachel. While learning about the benefits and risks of viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi they’ve been investigating the world unavailable to the naked eye. They recently examined the metabolic processes that  yeast undergo in making bread with Ms. Debby.   They discovered that when you practice the ancient art of bread making- adding yeast to honey, flour, and water you get Carbon Dioxide, a waste product, which makes bread fluffy and delicious!
