PI Donates Basketball Goals

Featured above are two basketball goals that Parents Involved (PI) purchased for our school and PE program!

PI is our version of a traditional PTA. We believe in fostering a Community of Learners, and our Parents Involved are a crucial part of this community.

PI is a non-profit entity working solely for the better good of the students, teachers and The Learning Center as a whole.  PI earn it’s dollars by fundraising and all proceeds go back to the students and their classrooms.

How can you get involved?

Click HERE to visit the PI portion of the school website. On the website you can learn more about PI, see the calendar of when their monthly meetings are scheduled, and contact officers with further questions.

Your involvement is critical in allowing the organization to achieve it’s plans for YOUR student(s)!

Annual Mum Sale

The Learning Center charter school has long been known for selling beautiful mums each fall to the community.  It’s that time of year again!

Locally grown by Robert Gouglar of Sunshine Mountain Farms, the mums are larger and longer-lasting than what local chain stores are selling them for. They cost $12 each and come in a gallon sized terra cotta colored pot. Brilliant colors of red, white, orange yellow and pink/purple are available.

The annual mum sale is coordinated by the school’s parent group, Parents Involved. The group uses the proceeds from the sale to purchase school supplies for the school.

To buy a mum, call the school at 835-7240 or purchase directly from a school student.

Playground Improvements Thanks to PI

Have you noticed the awesome improvements to the playground courtesy of PI (Parents Involved)? In addition to deck improvements, the crew also filled pot holes in the road next to the playground. PI also purchased a new fence from Western Carolina Fence the contains the playground.

More exciting things to come!

Thanks PI!
